After the computer is finished loading the BIOS file, it will start flashing the BIOS. During this process, the computer will beep every 2 seconds. The computer used in this tutorial took about 32 seconds.

About 5 seconds after the flashing process has finished, the computer will shutdown. If the recovery process was successful, then the BIOS should work normally the next time you boot up the computer. *NOTE: Not all devices will produce beeping sounds during the recovery process.

The USB flashdrive LED should still blink on and off while the computer is loading the BIOS image. If the loading process is successful, the computer should shutdown within the next minute. For larger BIOS images, this may take longer. Hi I’ve been trying to recover my Acer Aspire 5742 due to a corrupt bios, and been following the pages for phoenix instructions (5742g uses it apparently) but stopped when I realized that mine uses Insyde. I have confirmed this by entering crisis mode to see if it would work.

The bios was B.0F, I downloaded the bios F.18 from TouchSmart M6-k125dx which is i5-4200u. The flash didn’t back up the old bios for some reasons. There is no TouchSmart M6 with i7 – 4550u anywhere. There is no working bios for me to download and restore. The board finished flashing the bios 2048 sectors and verified then it doesn’t reboot just power on and black screen with the wifi button red. I think the new bios doesn’t know what i7 4550u HD5000 is because it’s for i5 4200 HD4400. It was stupid of me, if anyone can help, I would compensate for your work.

I have read through the entire post and done plenty of research regarding bios crash failure repair etc etc. I was busy doing a bios update and then power went out while the update in was progress, or should i say it was at the end busy finalizing. I have tried all the methods that are mentioned here and on all the other websites and have not been able to get the laptop up and running. The symptoms are as follows: My laptop is totally dead only the power light comes on by the charger plug to show that the charger is plugged in, no other lights. When you press the the power button with any of the key combinations still nothing. The laptop is a HP DV6 Pavilion Entertainment pc, Model: dv6-1225ei.
