It is believed by detectives that the 13-year-old went to Vista with a brother and a cousin to conduct an act of aggression and/or retaliation following recent assaults made on Fallbrook gang members by some from Vista. Members and 27,900 gangs were estimated to. Increase in gang members from 2002 (Eagley. (San Marcos), and Vista Home Boys (Vista).

Seems like people tend to stereotype San Diego city and county as not being particularly dangerous when it comes to gang violence, as compared to other major cities across America. Sure, San Diego county may not be anywhere near the level of shootings and overall violence as compared to Chicago, but it's no joke as some people like to make it out to be. There are some significant gangs throughout San Diego county that are not to be taken lightly.

Lack of deaths doesn't mean lack of danger/threats. Near San Diego city are notorious gangs like Lincoln Park Bloods and Logan Heights, and north county has some significant gang presence like San Marcos, Oceanside, and Vista. Vista has the Vista Homeboys gang, they have something like 400 members running around the city. Because they have no nearby enemies, gangs in North County tend to travel across cities to pick fights with each other.

I grew up with Mitchy.just another day in CA. San Diego has gang injunctions throughout the city and county that has limited the gang presence you see on the streets as the gangsters aren’t allowed to loiter around outside in their own neighborhoods or else they can get arrested. It’s not like back in the days where you would see Logan Red Step gangsters roaming the streets of Barrio Logan and Sherman Heights causing havoc. The city cracked down hard on them and the gang injunctions stopped it all.

There’s gangs in SD, but there not noticeable and stay low key. I know a guy that lives in Sherman Heights and told me back in the 80’s and 90’s, the neighborhood was so bad that the residents there would speed down their own streets because the gang members would just start randomly shooting at cars everyday.

So that was one way to stay alive. It was that bad.

SouthEast SD/South SD has a well known history of gangs including National City and West Chula, but i didn’t realize certain areas in North County can be just as bad.
