I have the same program on an old laptop and haven't connected to the internet for a long time so have not had any updates and it is working fine. I contacted Ancestry,com who have suggested that this is not an issue with Ancestry but rather with recent updates made by Microsoft and a recent Windows Patch.I have the same program on a laptop and haven't connected to internet for some time so no updates have been done. It worked fine for a long time and just quit.

Found this thread while looking for answers. Kaplan schweser frm level 1. Rather than deleting KB3045999 as suggested here I did a restore to the 12th doing away with all the updates. Now the app works again so the problem is definitely related to the update. So the question is what if anything am I jeopardizing if I don't put it back?
