Does anyone here have the latest AppTapp or Installer 3.0 beta I believe running on firmware 1.1.1? I can't get my 2.64 to upgrade. On my 2.0.2 firmware phone the Installer upgraded itself, but my 1.1.1 phone is stuck with the old AppTap/Installer. If you did get the newer version running on 1.1.1, how did you get it on there? CharlesHave you tried to uninstall the Commmunity Sources and re-install them? That seems to work for most. I just made a backup of my old installier from 1.0.2. My phone was running 2.0.2, I updated the firmware, and AppTapp no longer showed. So I installed it again using iNdependence by downloading the application from their website and just dragging the installer.app into the customize/user/applications in iNdependence. Just uninstalled community services then reinstalled. But still no update.

Why don't they just make version 3 available for download so that I can install it that way! I don't know what to do! How ARE you supposed to install AppTap once you are running 1.1.1? I can't just install it with the AppTap installer selecting 1.0.2?

This is what I did: 1) Upgraded to 1.1.1 2) Installed SSH 3) Copied Installer.app into /Applications on the phone At this point, I had Installer 2.64, but most stuff didn't work. I couldn't update Installer to 3.0 either.

I finally found a directory /var/root/Library/Installer that contained a bunch of info about previously installed packages. I deleted that directory then restarted SpringBoard. Only then did Installer 3.0 show up, and now all is well. Hope that helps.

I'm having the same problem too I think. In the 'About' section my Installer shows version 2.68, but there's nothing in the 'Update' tab. Installer is in the 'Uninstall' tab, and it shows it as 3.0 but reinstalling it doesn't work because it says 'Package location not found.'

I think this might have happened because I installed Installer.app 3.0 after I downgraded my 1.1.1 phone to 1.0.2, and some info must have been left over. So it looks like the solution is to either: - Delete the /var/root/Library/Installer directory or - Edit the Installer version in /var/root/Library/Installer/packages.plist Sounds like deleting the directory would be easier, but how would you edit that file? There's no vi or emacs on the iPhone right? Would you transfer the file over via scp, edit, and scp back to the phone?

I then used Fugu to pull off a copy of the iPhone's 'LocalPackages.plist' file onto my Macbook and edited any instance of 3.0 (I believe there were two) to 2.63. Just changed the numbers.

I saved the file and put it back into the /var/root/Library/Installer directory. Then I restarted my iPhone and clicked on Installer and it asked right away if I wanted to update to Installer 3.0 along with a newer Community Sources. I have solved it!
